Waterfalls Grades Carl HenningAugust 24, 2018September 7, 2018 Travel No Comments We had time to visit another waterfall before visiting the railroad museum in Saluda, NC at the “top of the grade.” Connestee Falls. Saluda Historic Depot and Museum. Top of the Grade. To help trains up the steep grade they needed a helper engine, this articulated steam engine was one of them. Runaway trains wrecked. To prevent this it was suggested to build a runaway train track. Highways followed suit with runaway truck ramps. For more details see the magazine articles at the depot’s website.Share this:Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) Related ← Blue Ridge Rutherford B.
