Mercer Gardens

This travel blog post took us 20 minutes from home to visit Mercer Gardens with visiting friends. We’ve been there a number of times including to the Arboretum across the road. Officially this place is called Mercer Arboretum and Botanic Gardens. The arboretum portion is kind of lame although it has some trails. But the garden is wonderful. Admission is free.

In addition to the flowers there are often pretty latinas in fancy dresses having their photos taken. I don’t know what the occasion is, but this is a frequent sight.

There are a lot of meandering walkways past flowers, trees, and water features.

I thought about taking the lazy way out and letting an AI write this post. The disclaimer at the website that generates the text warns it may not be accurate. It wasn’t. The gardens are not in downtown Houston, they’re in an unincorporated area of Harris county near Humble. So, for what it’s worth, this was its output for the request to “write a blog post about visiting Mercer Gardens in Houston admiring the flowers.”
