While visiting Fort Ticonderoga and discovering the other museums I wanted to see were closed today, I looked for an alternative. To my great surprise Star Trek Original Series Set Tour is nearby in Ticonderoga, New York. So I boldly went there.
The Star Trek: The Original Series original sets were dismantled and scrapped in 1969 when the series ended. Back then its future success was not imagined. A super fan recreated the sets from the original blueprints under license from CBS. Normally I use a small number of the photos I take. This time I was tempted to include all 60 I took… but that seemed excessive. So, here’s a larger-than-normal sampling.

Red-shirted tour guide survived the entire tour. She read us the rules before starting. The last rule: no staged fighting. She said when Shatner visits he always does. He’s due back in November.

When the turbolift doors open on the Bridge it all becomes real. Of course, the doors open just like on the show by someone pulling a rope.

… but there was some turbulence when we came under fire by the Klingons.
