It was not surprising to find the Museum of the Rockies in Bozeman, Montana. What was surprising was that most of the area was devoted to Da Vinci. We took a quick pass through the local artifacts and dinosaurs and spent a great deal of time with the Renaissance master’s paintings and devices.
- Da Vinci earned money by painting portraits and designing war equipment like this tank.
- This steam canon uses hot coals to generate steam.
- March into battle to the sound of drums. This 5-drum player made it sound like a larger contingent was approaching.
- Not all inventions were about war. He perfected lubricated ball bearings.
- To repeat myself: every Western museum has a stagecoach. This one toured Yellowstone National Park from 1895 to 1912.
- Another Alosaurus.
