Although we attend many college baseball games to watch two or our grandsons play, I don’t blog about them. But this game at Oglethorpe University was different. Hermance Stadium looks like a Roman amphitheater. It was dedicated three days before the stock market crash of 1929. No further work was done on this football stadium. Oglethorpe eventually discontinued their football program. So these are the seats for baseball.
- My photo didn’t come out, so here’s one from the university.
- Being experienced travel baseball followers, we were prepared. We used the stadium seats with cushions and back rests. We also carry cushions and camp chairs because you never know what you’ll encounter.
- Underneath.
- What is this? Obviously a collapsed vomitorium. When our civil engineer used the term, he had to show me online that he wasn’t making it up.
