On our Thanksgiving journey to Kim’s by car, we passed Nothing… Nothing, Arizona. It’s on Route 93 north of Wickenberg and west of Bagdad. Arizona’s Bagdad does not contain an “h.”
Someday we’ll come this way again and pull into Nothing. Then my blog post will be titled “We Stopped at Nothing.”
We did not pass Kingman because they have a Route 66 museum and I’ve never been to a Route 66 Museum <snicker>. The museum is in the old powerhouse and across the street from a steam engine.
- First people around we’re the Indians
- then the pioneers on the Beale wagon road
- then the escapees from the dust bowl
- and tourists on trains
- Now electric vehicles are popular
- we had to go past Lake Mead again, but not threu the National Recreation Area
A main road through Kingman is named for their most famous resident, Andy Devine. Now only geezers and Western movie aficionados know who that is.
