Last year we saw the results of wildfires along the Beeline Highway and stopped to see some Wild Horses along the Salt River. We were curious about the recovery, especially of the burned saguaros. Here are some photos, but sadly, no wild horses showed themselves on this trip.
- Panoramic view of the desert and Four Peaks. And if you look closely towards the right, there is Weaver’s Needle of Lost Dutchman Mine fame.
- Dead tees are fascinating.
- The burned ground is receding.
- Four Peaks and burned cactus.
- Same burned cactus from Wild Horses post, but it has lost an arm.
- Another fire damaged cactus.
