We drove through a number of forests of big trees. This is along the Avenue of the Giants.
I stoppped to take a photo of the big trees, unconcerned about traffic. On the northeren half of the route there were no cars. The guide book said it’s bumper to bumper in the summer.

From the Point Arena lighthouse, a collection of whale bones. Migrating whales can be seen from here, but not the day we were there.
A deer comes running down the road and I grab my point-and-shoot camera to get this photo and one of where he used to be. We saw many deer including one on a street corner in Coos Bay.
