We are in the midst of a Christmas trip to Washington state; another driving trip of 1500 miles. We joked as we left southern California that we would be saying goodbye to blue skies. Alas, the next two days brought overcast, fog, and rain. Along the way we passed without stopping places we had already visited:
- Joshua Tree National Park: Joshua Tree
- Tule Elk Preserve: Tule as in Yule
- Fort Tejon: Fort Tejon
We did manage a stop again and some gray-sky photos of Mount Shasta (for blue-sky photos, see last year’s post, Mount Shasta):
- From the McDonald’s parking lot in Weed, California. (Sorry, I have run out of weed jokes).
- From the Rest Stop by the airport north of Weed. The clouds were rolling over the top of Mount Shasta.
