Our epic 2018 Summer journey is over. We’re back home after 54 days away from Phoenix’ heat. Some milestones:
- 47 blog posts including this one
- 11,674 miles (somewhere in Kansas on the way home the odometer turned over 100,000)
- 30 states visited, some of them 3 or 4 times (Kay and I both logged our 50th state – mine was North Dakota; hers, Minnesota)
- 18 Marriott hotels (14 Fairfield Inns, 2 TownePlace Suites, 1 Residence Inn, and 1 Marriott, bringing total Marriott Reward stays to 47 nights plus 6 rewarded nights, more than when I was working. Several of these we stopped at east bound and west bound.)
- Misc stays: 1 Holiday Inn, 1 Park City condo, 1 Yellowstone Lodge, 1 Econolodge and many nights with friends and family
- 93 friends and family visited, not counting the wedding and a Boyertown party
- 1 windshield replaced
- countless photos taken
- 0 – number of times we turned on the TV in the room
- lots of wild animals, my favorite was the grizzly bear in Yellowstone
- hundreds of thousands of cattle in two feedlots in the Texas panhandle
